I'm a decent woodworker and I probably could have built a cabinet on my own, but I don't have the precision with the router or table saw to replicate the quality of the computer cut flat pack that Paul sells. There are so many details in the cuts and grooves and angles that it totally makes it a great buy. Plus, the plywood quality is excellent (I saw the same stuff for $75 a sheet at Lowes) and arrives well packed and undamaged.
If you want the feeling of satisfaction and pride you get from building it yourself but don't want to be pulling your hair out and redoing it because of design mistakes and crooked cuts, the flat pack is definitely the best of both worlds and an investment in your sanity. I also highly recommend the back box upgrade.
